Three teenagers, two girls and one boy, walking outdoors on a sunny day during autumn, with yellow-leaved trees in the background. The girl in the middle is smiling and wearing a pink long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The girl on the right is looking at her and wearing a green sweater. The boy on the left is smiling and wearing a green button-up shirt.

Portraits

I am not here to curate a version of you, but to witness the quiet, honest reality of who you are in this moment.

What to expect...

Most portrait photography feels like a costume. You are told how to sit, when to laugh, and how to hold a version of yourself that feels foreign. But the portraits that carry weight—the ones that remain resonant years later—re the ones where you finally let your guard down.

My approach is rooted in the belief that a portrait is a study, not a production. I operate with the quiet intentionality of a documentairan and the eye of a film director. I am looking for the stillness between thoughts, the way you lean into the light, and the subtle expressions that usually only surface when the camera isn’t there.

I don’t arrive with a list of rigid poses. Instead, I arrive with the patience to let the session breathe. By prioritizing observation over direction, I capture the raw, unscripted character that makes you distinct. You won’t spend your hour performing for my lens; you will spend it existing, and I will be there to ensure the truth of it is preserved.

  • A dedicated session designed to capture the nuance of your character. This is a collaborative, slow-paced experience where we let the environment and the light dictate the rhythm. There are no rushed transitions or forced energy, just enough time for you to settle into the space and forget the presence of the lens.

I prioritize one primary location within the local area, whether that is a studio, your home, or a meaningful outdoor space. We spend up to ninety minutes together, allowing the session to breathe until we find the quiet, honest reality of the moment.

  • A curated collection of your most resonant moments, delivered in full fidelity. Every image is hand-selected and processed with an emphasis on cinematic color grading and timeless textures, ensuring your archive feels like a cohesive narrative rather than a random set of files.

Your final gallery will consist of at least forty high-resolution digital images. These are delivered through a private online gallery for viewing and downloading, and I include full personal printing rights so you can access your history whenever you need it.

  • Preserving your history in physical form, beyond the screen. Digital files are convenient, but the true weight of a portrait is felt when it is held. You will have direct access to a professional print lab through your gallery to order museum-grade paper and framing that will last decades.

For those who want a more complete record, I offer an optional custom-bound, linen-wrapped portrait book. This is a tactile record of this specific chapter of your life, designed to be kept on a shelf and passed down through generations.

  • Documenting your story wherever it unfolds. While I am based in California, I frequently travel for portrait commissions that require a specific backdrop or a more personal environment that defines who you are.

Travel fees are handled with total transparency and are tailored to the specific logistics of your session. Whether it is a coastal study or an urban narrative, I am happy to discuss the vision and provide a custom quote for the journey.
